Things To Do

Things To Do

Walking

They include the Thames Path National Trail and the towpath of the old Thames and Severn Canal. There are also a number of designated cycle routes and bridleways, including the old Swindon and Cricklade Railway. Ten minutes drive north are some of the most magnificent walks in the UK – beautiful rolling Cotswold countryside, hidden footpaths – and very few walkers, so you really will have the feeling of getting away from it all.

Cycling

If you’re a keen biker, or simply enjoy a leisurely hour or so in the saddle, there’s a 12-mile circuit around the lakes, half of it off road, as well as miles of country lanes and bridleways to explore. For the more adventurous, there are plenty of hills that offer more challenging cycling and outstanding views. Perfect for keeping fit!  GoByCycle, a local company, provide bike hire and can even deliver to the lodge.

You can contact them on Telephone No – 07970 419208.

Horse Riding

Horse riding in the Cotswolds is a wonderful way to see the countryside and enjoy the company of these fabulous animals. There are many miles of public bridleways nearby, plus numerous riding centres close to Watermark that provide both tuition as well as trekking opportunities. They cater for both the experienced and novice rider. Maybe this kind of saddle is more your style! For more information, contact either:

What’s more, they’re all in an area of outstanding natural beauty – complemented by access to world famous towns and cities, places of beauty and history…and scenery that is quintessentially English.
